Introducing Baby G...

Hello!

Well the madness here continues as it ever does - I just wanted to let you know that last weekend we welcomed our little baby girl into the world, hence the lack of posting from my end.

She is so beautiful and the overwhelming sense of love and adoration we feel for her just can't be described. She was a couple of days early, despite my deeply held conviction she would be late (but then again I initially thought she was a boy so what do I know?). She weighed in at almost exactly 9lbs (4.098kg) and was 52cm long. After a 34 hour sporadic non-progressing labour she was born by emergency C-Section. With the benefit of hindsight, I should have listened to a number of my friends and gone with the elective option - it would have been worlds easier. If we go back for another I'd elect next time for certain given the challenges we faced look to not be unique to this delivery. But we are both recovering well and it's bliss to be at home once again. Every day is a gift and a blessing and I feel so lucky to have her.

In the end, after much debate and discussion, we named her Georgina Ingrid. She was named for two very special people in our life - Georgina is my little sister's middle name and the middle name of Mr K's father, who passed away 6 years ago, was also George. It seemed most fitting and it already suits her. She couldn't be anything other than Baby G.

I'll post photos once we have a few moments of sanity but for the moment you'll have to take my word for it that she's divine. She really is.

K xx

Yippppeeeee!!! That's wonderful news, Miss Kitty. I'm glad Little Kitty is happy and healthy and HERE!

I totally relate to your labour story - my first was 40 hours non-progressive, c-section. He was posterier, you see. I went on to have a V-BAC with number two and then had to have an elective with breech number 3. So you just never know how where these things take us.

Enough about birthing! Just wanted to wish you well in these first chaotic few weeks and remind you to breathe occassionally.

Much love to you and your family.

Oh Miss Kitty Congratulations my dear, how did I miss this? (by failing to keep up to date with my favourite blogs). That is one gorgeous baby - and 9lbs - excellent - large babies are so less worrying than those tiny little rabbits! lots of love Mrs B and the boys xx
