Christmas (over)indulgence

I really need to stop the Christmas baking...

But yet I STILL want to make some gingerbread. We leave for Melbourne in three days and I am still trying to work out how I can fit it in without losing sleep. Well, too much sleep. I think an intervention is in order. And who better to stage it than Grumpy Cat?

Back away from the oven, lady...

What is your Christmas treat that you can't seem to get enough of?

I haven't overindulged yet but will as soon as I get to my parents' place on the weekend. My fave christmas treat is my mum's fruit cake. I don't know if it's my pregnancy cravings or what, but I'm hankering for it more than I ever have before. I dream about it! I haven't tucked in yet as mum waits til we visit to crack the cake, and really there is no comparison. I caved and bought a mini one from Bakers' Delight in a moment of weakness on Saturday, and let me just say: FAIL. Dry and horrible and full of glace cherries (bleugh).

Keep up the Christmas baking, I love to read about it. :)

I have been very good with the Christmas indulgence so far... but I don't know how much longer I can resist!

I know what you mean Amy. There is no substitute for home made fruit cake, with the balance of fruit just the way you like it. I'm not a glace cherry fan at all - I substitute glace ginger and apricots instead. I haven't made it this year, though - we still have some of last year's batch in the freezer!

Posy, you are clearly behind the 8 ball. Grumpy cat is very annoyed with you! But then again it seem to be his natural state...

I'm all about shortbread!

I only make it if I can give the bulk away quickly or I end up scoffing the lot!

Emma, I know what you mean. I have parceled up my toasted coconut shortbread to give away. Far too tempting otherwise!

Mmm! I'd never made gingerbread! And did on the weekend.
Made a batch for a daycare gift, to take to friends and took the rest to my mums this morning!

On a completely side note... I bought Abi a pair of the glitter Seed mouse flats today! I do hope Georgie has a pair??? They will be prefect once the walking confidence is 100% spot on as I got them in a 24!
